A Man of 26 Unearths 2.2ct Yellow Diamond in Arkansas State Park

A 26 years old man, Christian Liden, uncovered a sparkling 2.2ct yellow diamond at the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas. He was digging for something sparkly for her girlfriend’s engagement ring. 

The 2.2ct diamond Liden unearthed is a triangular yellow diamond that the Park superintendent referred to the find as “one-of-a-kind”. Interestingly, the Arkansas State Park has been uncovered nearly 121 diamonds in 2021 only. 

Along with his friend, Christian Liden rode from Washington to Arkansas to dig out sparkle for his girlfriend’s engagement ring. However, this stunning “one-of-a-kind” 2.2ct yellow loose diamond is estimated to worth nearly £41K. 

The Stunning Discovery Of the Unique 2.2ct Yellow Diamond

Christian Liden spent three days digging the earth for uncovering a diamond. And finally, he got the reward of his efforts with a sparkling triangular yellow diamond weighing 2.2ct. Liden expressed his feelings after he identified his magnificent discovery. 

He said that he was so shaking so severely that he asked his friend to grab the gem out of the gravel. Liden made a 2000miles trip on the road to Arkansas State Park with the hope to find just a small one. He wanted to place it on the engagement ring for his girlfriend. 

Christian Liden’s large diamond can be worth between £6,000 and £41,900. However, according to the park interpreter Waymon Cox, it is not possible to establish the diamond’s market value. A certified gemologist will have to appraise it first and know its grade considering the 4Cs. 

Well, Christian Liden came to know about the Arkansas park from a coworker. Then he planned to dig out for himself. He began researching it online; watched several videos of uncovering gems at the site. Moreover, Liden made his equipment of mining and made the trip to Arkansas with his friend. 

His now-fiancee knew that he was off for a road trip. He was unaware of the actual purpose. 

To date, in 2021, the park has registered about 121 diamonds of over 20carats. The state purchased the Arkansas park for about £5,32,312 in 1972 from General Earth Minerals. It has a total of 37.5acre area where you are likely to find gems. 

Dru Edmonds, the park’s Assistant Superintendent, described Liden’s discovery as “one-of-a-kind”. The diamond is undoubtedly gorgeous. However, the intriguing part is the story behind the discovery. 

Liden’s dream was to create a special ring for his would-be wife adorned with his owned mind gold and stones. And his dream will now come true.
